Fit Your AI Shot Right Back Into the Timeline

Designed for creators who need to drop AI footage right back into their edit timeline. If you just need to fix upload errors, the converter above is all you need!

The Problem

Why doesn’t an AI video fit the timeline if you upload it as is?

AI video platforms only work in whole seconds (like 4s or 5s), not exact decimals like 4.5s. If you upload a 4.5s cut, the platform decides on its own whether to cut it to 4s or stretch it to 5s—without telling you what it did.

Edit Timeline
Cut A
Original Cut Slot · 4.5s · 108 frames
Cut C
If the AI rounded to 5 seconds
AI Result 5s
0.5s overflow spills into Cut C
If the AI cut it to 4 seconds
AI Result 4s
0.5s gap left empty

Either way, you have to hunt down how many frames slipped out of sync by hand to fit the cut back in. If you have dozens of shots, this tedious work really piles up.

The Solution

Send as Whole Seconds, Then Bring Back the Original Length

Instead of leaving the duration to the AI platform, we set it upfront so we can restore the returned clip back to its exact original length.

1

Pad to Whole Seconds

Extend a 4.5s cut to exactly 5.0s before sending. Just choose the duration in our converter and it adjusts automatically.

Original
4.5s · 108 frames
To Send
Exact 5.0s · 120 frames
2

Generate in AI

Because the AI receives an exact 5.0s clip from the start, there is no guessing or rounding—the result comes back at a clean 5.0s.

Sent Video
5.0s
AI Result
5.0s · Clear, predictable length
3

Restore Original Length

Put the original video and AI result together, and it brings it back to the exact original 4.5s · 108 frames. The visual quality stays 100% untouched.

AI Result
5.0s
Restored
4.5s · 108 frames
Result: Edit Timeline
Cut A
AI Result · 4.5s · 108 frames
Cut C

Drops right back into the original cut slot with frame-by-frame accuracy.

There Are Two Ways to Extend Your Video

Step 3 restoration will automatically reverse whichever method you chose in Step 1.

Hold Last Frame

Recommended
Original untouched 4.5s

Keeps the original untouched and adds a 0.5s freeze of the last frame to the end. During restoration, only the frozen tail is trimmed off.

Best when: Original motion speed must not change at all

Adjust Playback Speed

Entire clip at 0.9x speed for 5s

Plays the whole video slightly slower to reach 5.0s. Restoration returns it right back to normal speed.

Best when: Continuous motion needs to flow smoothly all the way to the end

Good to know.Duration and frame count are restored with pinpoint precision, but camera framing or subject changes made by AI remain as generated. Please do a quick check in your final edit.
